From hype to practical application

In our profession, hype terms seem to come and go at a rapid pace. Marketing automation might seem like one of those terms. On the face of it, it’s not an illogical concept, especially when you consider that in the last century “sales force automation” was all the rage.

As we see it, “marketing automation” can be taken pretty literally. We understand it to mean “automating marketing processes”. Now that might seem obvious, but there is more to it than meets the eye. In this round table session, we will reflect in detail on the concept of “marketing automation” from various different perspectives. First we will reflect on the sense and the nonsense surrounding marketing automation: “A fool with a tool is still a fool”. We will be talking about concepts like programmatic marketing, lead nurturing, data and data management platforms, personalisation, always-on communication: essentially all applications that marketing automation encapsulates and in which it can play a role. We will also be talking about the management side of marketing automation. How do you determine the right objectives and the right performance indicators and how do you actually measure them? And then there is of course the issue of investment. What components need to be there in a business case and on what basis do you decide to implement?

The definition of a “discussion” is “reaching a higher plane of thought together through the exchange of ideas”. That is precisely the aim we have in mind at Cmotions. In addition, we will also be introducing our round table guests to our vision for marketing automation and of course our extensive experience in this field.

We are delighted to invite you, along with a select number of fellow professionals, to a round table discussion to exchange thoughts about the opportunities and challenges of marketing automation. Our aim with this session is to inspire with practically applicable information and ideas. Above all, to share questions and experiences with fellow professionals. The round table session will take place on Thursday, 21 September 2017 from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. at Eye Amsterdam. There is ample parking and dinner will be served during the discussion. Note: there are only 12 places available, so sign up soon using the registration form below! The meeting is primarily aimed at managers and/or executives who deal with Fact-Based Decisions. We think it is very important to have a homogeneous group, so for this reason we reserve the right to decline registrations. We will not be asking the participants to pay any costs towards this event.
